El primer domingo

For those of you who don’t speak Spanish, that’s the first Sunday, and my very first Sunday at United Pres and La Mision Presbiteriana Nuevas Fronteras fell on Nuevas Fronteras’ celebration of their 29th anniversary. In the bulletin this morning was the story of their church and how it has grown. Walking through the building this morning, Victor also told me the story of how the English-speaking church (United) got its start.
Some highlights: The English-speaking congregation is teeny, yet diverse; Working with Victor, JC, and Jennie is really comortable and inspiring; praying, worshipping, and speaking Spanish again; they gave me flowers! and we had a nice lunch after the Spanish-speaking service…until 3:30 pm.
So now I should be getting to some reading, but I definitely had fun today.
